Rev. Clifton McDowell, is the Presiding Elder of the National Association of the Church of God (NACOG), West Middlesex, Pa., and the senior pastor of the Church of God of East New York, a thriving congregation located in the heart of Brooklyn, New York, where he began his pastoral ministry in April, 1981.
He also serves as an Executive Team Member of Heritage Pastors of Brooklyn, whose goal it is to engage local elected officials, government agencies, and market place leaders, to collaborate and partner with local ministries to educate on best practices and provide available resources to further benefit our communities.
He is a former member of the Ministries Counsel of the Church of God, Anderson, Ind., and former member of the Board of Directors at Warner Press. In addition, he is a Ministry Partner with Navigators Church Discipleship Ministry, and a founding member of the World Vision Church Alliance Initiative in New York, NY.
Rev. McDowell is a former V.P. & Finance Division Manager with the investment banking firm of Solomon Smith Barney (currently Citigroup) where he was employed for 24 years.
Rev. McDowell earned a BA in Organizational Management, (with an emphasis in Economics and Accounting) from Nyack College, master's degree in urban ministry from Alliance Theological Seminary and, Master of Divinity Degree from Anderson University.
He is a noted speaker and teacher and has ministered the Gospel as far away as England, East Africa, Barbados, Trinidad, Jamaica and Grand Cayman, as well as throughout the United States. Over the years he has been blessed with many great examples and mentors (both male and female) who have all been instrumental in his life and have contributed greatly to the godly man he strives to be today.
Rev. McDowell is deeply committed first to God, to his wife Deborah of 44 years, to his family, and as a servant/leader to his congregation. Rev. McDowell's goal is to be a godly example who inspires and challenges other leaders to live a life of excellence and integrity. He and his wife are proud parents of four beautiful children: Felicia, Nicole, Leah, and Clifton Jr., five grandchildren: Darien, Destiny, Kharlie, Kai, and Kayson. Together they share a passion for equipping leaders, couples, families, and ministries to mature in faith, and to reach their purposeful potential in the Kingdom while making generations of disciple-making disciples for Christ.
