Dr. Moody wears lots of ministry hats, but the one he is most proud of and the one he often says he will give up last is as a personal disciple maker. Chris currently serves as the lead pastor of Beaumont's First Baptist Church, a medium-size city about an hour and a half east of Houston, TX, and as an Assistant Professor of Systematic Theology for Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary in Lynchburg,VA. He has three earned degrees: B.A. in Biology from Texas A&M University, Th.M. in Pastoral Leadership from Dallas Theological Seminary, and a Ph.D. in Systematic Theology from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft.Worth, TX. Since 2008, Dr. Moody has been guiding FBC Beaumont, an historic church founded in 1872, through a major shift in focus from a traditional SBC model of ministry to a 'Making-Disciple-Makers' model of ministry. Numerous onlookers throughout this 'disciple-shift' have given the same refrain, "If First Beaumont can do it, any church can do it." In addition to his work in the local church and the seminary, Chris volunteers as the Lamar Football Chaplain and as an executive board member of the SBTC. The four loves of his life are Wendi Lea (married in 1996) and his three daughters (Whitney, Trinity, and Audrey). In his free time (lol), Chris shows horses with his girls in the Louisiana Stock Horse Show Association.
