Heather Zempel has led small groups and small group ministry for years. Currently, she leads the discipleship ministry at National Community Church in Washington, DC where she oversees small groups, directs leadership development training and serves on the weekend teaching team. Through that ministry she has the opportunity to work with different age groups, especially millennials and even the up-and-coming Generation Z. She has authored several books including Sacred Roads, Community Is Messy, Amazed and Confused and the just-published Big Change, Small Groups (Four Ideas to Help You Lead Small Groups). She lives on Capitol Hill where she can be found enjoying the adventures of parenting with her husband Ryan as they raise Sawyer, their fun-loving and energetic daughter.
